Transformation Of Village Barnala, Faisalabad

Village Barnala, in Faisalabad district is one of the eight rural areas that AWARD is implementing the Sustainable livelihood projects. The project started in early 2021, with mobilisation sessions, business training and then small grants (PKR 50,000 each) to 16 women who were selected to start the business. Thirteen of these women are Christian while three are Muslim. Before AWARD started this project, the women were struggling to make ends meet, had nothing to do other than housework, sit around and gossip. 

During a visit of the AWARD and PPI team we met a group of 16 women in their village and it was an amazing discussion.  Story after story, the women could not stop sharing their testimonies on how their lives had been transformed.
